Hi all, i really need some help putting my system together.

recently i bought a p5ne sli asus motherboard and thought it was faulty. i put it down to the pci express port not working as my monitor couldn't get a connection using any of the leads or ports.

my old system was a

R690A-M2T MOTHERBOARD
RAM= 2 slots 1gb pc2-5300 64x8, 240 pin, dimm, DDR2 667 ccl value ram
RAM= 2 slots cm2x1024-5400 c4, 1.9v ver7.1 (44412, 675mhz, 1024mb, xm52-5400 corsair
Graphics card either geforce 450 gts
or amd radeon R7 200 series
550 fatality professional power supply

so i asked for another motherboard and they sent me a Intel® Desktop Board DQ45CB which would accept both my graphics card, new quad core q6600 intel processor and my ram.
so when i put it all together and booted the system i was amazed that once again the monitor was not getting a connection. keeps saying check signal on monitor.

i have tried different connectors etc, a clean Hard drive that had been formatted, new battery for bios. But none of these made a difference. it cant be a second faulty motherboard can it?

from what i looked at it all accepts the new system...

any help would be great as I'm totally lost now.

many thanks Richard

Hi all, i had another go at trying to get it to run. i tried swapping the memory ports etc, leaving 1 in etc, tried another processor and still couldn't get it to run.

the only difference i found was a red light came on near the power and reset pins.

i have put my old computer back together with all the same components and all is okay. I'm pretty stuck with this.

any help would be great
