Why Isn't Adobe Flash Player and Reader wanting to Install?

I've been trying to install flash player and reader for quite some time now, trying workarounds and such, but with no luck.

This gray screen happened with flash and reader alike and have been staying like that for the whole "installation" process not doing anything.

Also, when I click the X at the top right of the window, it directs my default web browser to this url:

Could somebody please help me? I really want to go on youtube for some tutorials, but again, no player.

Thank you for reading and hopefully somebody will know what's wrong with my system.

More about adobe flash player reader wanting install
  1. Do you have all other necessary run times installed on your pc?
i recommend using ninite as it will do it for you by just checking all the run time boxes.
Here is one pre set up to install all the necessary run times for you and reader https://ninite.com/.net-air-java-reader-shockwave-silverlight/
Just run it and it will do the rest!!

    Good luck,

    Try this:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

@jjr2000 there are no pre-reqs to install Flash, it can be done on a stock Windows 7 install without any updates.
  3. One other thing you could do is use Google chrome as it already has flash player built in eliminating the need for it in the first place also allowing you to watch your vids.

    Hope this helps,

  4. jjr2000, I mean offline without a browser as well. Sorry for not putting that in the questions, but yeah.

    Did you try ninite?
because it might work for you as it bypasses all the default installers!

    Good luck!

  11. Also have the exact same problem and I'm starting to get really frustrated. Currently trying ninite, but it doesnt include flash player. Do you think its included in there anyway? Someone help please. Otherwise, I'll probably just have to make Chrome my default browser...

I have had the same problem.
Downloaded the installer from "https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/" started it, then a gray/emtpy window.
Looks like the installer is Internet Explorer based -doh!- and in a "too strict" network environment, it won't work porperly.

What I had to do was:
Open "Control Panel / Network and Internet / Internet Options - Security tab"
Select "Internet" and set it to "Medium" - also don't forget to check "Restricted sites" for "adobe" like domains.

Other working alternative might be downloading re-distributable packages - offline installers - from trusted websites.
