Windows Firewall, Defender and diagnostics service

Hey,

Lately I've been having a few problems with my PC. I cannot start Windows Firewall or Defender even if I manually install them through services.exe and I get error 10 while attempting to start Firewall. Also my internet keeps cutting out and when I trouble shoot it says that the diagnostics policy server is not running. When I attempt to fix as administrator nothing happens and my internet continues to cut off.

Any suggestions and/or fixes?

Have you ran virus/malware scans, I have seen several malware programs prevent windows firewall and defender from working.

If you are relying on windows firewall and defender to protect your computer then there is no doubt you have infections, any decent virus/malware knows how to get right around microsofts half attempts at security.

Yes, right now I have Norton Security and I have ran a system scan that found nothing.

I ran a threat scan and quarantined all threats although I still cannot start firewall.
