i've been having some trouble with my screen, where it sometimes just black out for 2 seconds and then come back. It didnt bother me untill it did it every 10 sec. so i tryed with another HDMI cable. then it went from 10 sec to 20 sec :( i figures it maybe was because of the hdmi cables so i borrowed a dvi cable and bought an dvi - vga adapter (since the screen doesnt have dvi). But i cant get the screen to find the dvi-vga cable :( it only wants to use the hdmi cable.
any ideas on what to do?

You can use an adapter to turn a dvi port at your computer to a vga port to connect to the vga of your monitor. You cant use the adapter to turn the vga port of you desktop into a dvi port for your monitor.

You also cant use dvi cable at all; you need to go: dvi-i port on gpu-> adapter->vga cable ->monitor

Also it has to be the dvi-i port and not dvi-d port. consult gpu manual if not sure which port is which
