Ok so I have a 760 that needs an 8 pin and 6 pin connector. My CX430M only came with one 6+2 pin connector which I figured I would connect in the 8 pin slot of the GPU. My question is how do I connect the 6 pin? I have a molex to 6 pin adapter but I'm not exactly sure how I would use it to connect the PSU to the GPU. I plan on upgrading my PSU soon but I have to use this one for the time being.

I took a couple pictures to show my best guess on how to use the adapter and show what inputs are available on the PSU. I'm completely new to building a pc and want to make sure I don't mess anything up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Its not ideal, but it will work for now.

The reason it has an 8+6 pin where the ASUS has a single 8 is because ASUS is voltage locked, EVGA is not. So it wont need both connectors at stock speeds, for the most part, but it is much better, and safer to have both.

This is why it's best to check before you buy :p if you had, they're is an option that would had been simple.

ASUS sell a GTX 760 that only requires 1x 8pin, that would had been better suited to your current needs.

As to the dual molex to 6 pin, you don't have much choice where to stick it really, as it's a peripheral cable. Not sure why they need an 8 & 6 pin as it's only a 170W card (8pin = 150W 6 pin = 75W & PCIE slot = 75W).

I'd sleep easier if you had the ASUS card.

Thanks for the response. Yea I wish I would have payed more attention to the PSU I bought but I was trying to save money. So I plug the cable with the adapter on it into a peripheral slot and I'll be ok?
