Hello so i have built my system which is :

LED ACER 27" G276HLA FULL HD
Intel CPU i5 - 4670K 3.4 Ghz 6MB Cache -
Asrock Motherboard Z97 Killer
Circle Casing Fan x 3
Razer Mouse pad speed medium
Seidon 120V Liquid cpu cooler
HCG PSU Antec 620W
Coolermaster K350 case
Razer Mouse naga hex wraith edition mmo
BALLISTIX Crucial ram ddr3 1866 4gb x2
TRUST GXT 340 7.1 Headset
Coolermaster Sickleflow casing fan
LG DVD/RW
Transcend 340 SSD 128GB
HDD Seagate barracuda 500gb
HDD Seagate barracuda 1TB
ASUS DirectCU II V2 R9-280X 3GB GDDR5

--------------------------------------------------

now i have like 300$ sitting aside im wondering if i should get another r9 280x which i can get for about 200$ specific model ASUS DirectCU II V2 R9 280X 3GB and crossfire them, but i have my drawbacks

1.My PSU is antec 620W which will handle the r9 280x cf but for short time till i get another batch of money and get a new psu
2. my motherboard supports pcie 3.0 x16 and pcie 2.0 x4
3.afraid that amd will release something new within the few next months and it will be more powerful than r9 280x cf
4.afraid that the r9 280x CF will not be future proof for like 4-5 years since its already 1 year old
5.i just want to run everything on ultra with 2xAA no more i cant really see more than 2x
6.im not planning to change my monitor till it breaks which is about 2-3 years

any thoughts on what should i do?

get a ssd 128gb minimum. if you do get that extra cash make sure your get a seasonic psu or one made by seasonic. the single 280x will currently handle that monitor and run games on high-max settings. otherwise i think your fairly set and keep hammering down in some games

well get a evga 750w its better than a HCF? psu. its modular, gold rated, and 10yr warranty. the crossfire will be like a underclocked r9 295x2 since a r9 290x crossfire is a r9 295x2. it will play 4xmsaa. get the asus sabertooth on sale for 150$. a r9 270 crossfire is like a stronger gtx 780ti/r9 290x.

the build is new im not planning to change a motherboard or a psu im just wondering if i should add the r9 280x to my motherboard which supports pcie 3 x16 and pcie 2 x4 , ill change the psu in about another 1-2 months to evga 1000w psu the thing is..is it worth it to add the r9 280x now with my specs is it gunna be future proof for about 4-5 years

you have a fantastic build for 1080p gaming! btw....they will always be releasing something that will be more powerful than what any of us have....dont worry! also....NO SUCH THING AS A FUTURE PROOF RIG

well a r9 280x cf would be future proof for like 2yrs at min since it will be strong but the gtx 880 are realeasing next year and so are the r9 300s probably. the r9 280x is plenty tho if you dont want a crossfire

i've seen the specs(dont think thier real) but if they are a 880 and ti are both slower than a r9 280x do i think this is real not really the cf will keep up with it but eventually it will suck in like 2 3yrs which is why he said theres no such thing as future proofing
