Haven't tried to OC my 3550 yet, I have an after market cooler after my intel one broke physically, but this is by no means a fancy cooler, literally just a fan on top of the CPU.

So to get my 3550 multiplyer from 33 to 37 will I need a better cooler? I was actually thinking of getting the Corsair H100i, but it seems a bit excessive for the fact that my CPU is not a K and is limited as to how far you can OC it..

Also, this won't require more voltage so I don't need a new PSU right? I'm running a GTX 680 Classified and the i5 3550 on an EVGA 600w PSU

i5 3550's don't overclock. They don't have unlocked multipliers. So you won't need a new cooler. Or a new power supply.

Care to say what cooler you have? Hyper 212 Evo/Plus is recommended by many as its about $30. Also, you CPU is not unlocked, you can still overclock it but you're limited in what you can do. I'll psot some links if you have questions

Found it somehow

And I understand the entire locked thing, so that's why I'm wondering whether I will even need a new CPU fan

Contrary to popular belief, Sandy and Ivy non-k i5 and i7 CPUs can actually be slightly overclocked by increasing the multiplier a maximum of 400 MHz (4 bins as it's commonly referred). It works with turbo boost so that's why it's not possible on i3s. 400 MHz shouldn't be enough to warrant the need for an aftermarket cooler.

I know nothing of that cooler. And looking at its reviews I haven't seen any comments about overclocking with it. You could try if you like.
EDIT: According to oskerw you can
