Im losing my mind here, I just upgraded my motherboard and cpu and even with a 3 pin fan, even when changing fan speed in bios, fan xpert does nothing, speedfan cant find my cpu fan or temps.
I have an Asus m5a99fx Pro R2.0, with an AMD fx-6300. Nothing I do changes the cpu fan speed. Asus epu, speedfan, bios, fan xpert all have failed to lower the fan speed below 100%. I need help here.

Solution
Ok it actually worked, its a ghetto fix, but at least the radiator from my water cooler is quiet now, i adjusted the settings in fan xpert for chassis to increase as temps get higher. Prime 95 test maxed out at about 45c. This will do for now, may look into getting a fan controller. Thanks for trying to help though.

the stock 3 pin fans that came with my corsair h-70 water cooler...my last motherboard was a 4 pin fan slot, and the 3 pins worked fine on that one. Also the chassis fan 1 and 2 are 4 pin and have 3 pin fan connectors and those are controlled just fine, its only the cpu fans that wont comply.

Im gonna try something creative, gonna plug my cpu fan into chassis 3, and move chassis 2 onto cpu and see if one gets controlled and the other runs full speed, because that would be acceptable

The 3 pin PUMP should be running at 100% all the time. Plugging it into the CPU header is OK, since CPU fan headers will only speed-control a 4 pin PWM motor. The radiator fans can be plugged into any 3 or 4 pin SYS FAN header that allows speed-control. Not all 4 pin headers allow speed-control of 3 pin fans.

Hi, finnaly I use Scythe Fan Controller for other fans(HDD, Case). Radiator fans are connected to mobo FAN1 with 1400rpm - lower noise , water pump to CPUFAN . So with 3pin connectors this Asus CPUFAN , CPUOPT and FAN2 run always at 100%, but FAN1 and FAN3 1400 and 1000rpm.
