Recently I upgraded my motherboard from a msi Z77-GD65 and i5 3570k to a Asus maximus iiv and 4970k... I find that my computer runs overall slower, and I'm really confused to as why. While playing games like Warcraft I seem to experience inconsistent frames compared to what I had before. I especially seem to have frame rateand input lag issues when playing and watching (listening to) a video at the same which I had little to no issue with before.

In gaming, there is no real difference between the i7 and the i5. In some cases the i5 has better frames than the i7. The i7 is better in multithreaded tasks like video editing, 3d rendering, live streaming, etc.

It shouldn't be a huge difference though. If there is a huge difference, it might be something else.
