Although I have picked parts before this is the first time I'm actually building my own system.

I'm finally upgrading from an ancient Windows XP system.

Basically, this system will have to do a little of everything and hopefully it will have some quickness to it.

I'll run Windows 7-pro 64 bit. I use photoshop a lot. Play games like Watch Dogs. Stream videos, play games on social media, play music... every day life :)

Thanks for any advice you can offer up. I tried to make sure everything is compatible but I may have overlooked something.

Ok, first of all, you're getting a non-k processor, so get something like an asus h87-plus.

Do you really need 16gb of ram? 8gb is more than enough for gaming, and everyday multitasking.

For the SSD get an 840 evo 250gb, it's cheaper and just as good, if not better. I'd suggest you get at least a 1TB drive, you can get a good one cheaper than the one you listed: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840&cm_re=seagate_st1000dm001-_-22-148-840-_-Product .

You can get a cheaper blu-ray drive that's just as good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129075&cm_re=blu_ray_writer-_-27-129-075-_-Product
And with everything you've saved up, you can get a better graphics card like an r9 280x.

Overall the build is fine if you arent extremely picky about your components. The video card is outdated but will get the job done though something better can be chosen with that budget.

Do you have any preference in components such as Intel/AMD CPU or Nvida/AMD GPU? If not you can probably get away with a slightly cheaper build that'll perform just as well as this if not better and can have a more up to date GPU which will help in all your criteria.

If you're willing to take build suggestions I can make a build that'll suit your needs just give me a budget. But regardless this build would get you by just fine.

i agree with xtempered above, if your going to play some games like watch dogs ect. your graphics card is good but will not play all the newest games to the highest quality. even the gtx760 will perform better than the 660. and isnt too much more.
