hehehe .. another temp question ,,, here is my post on the temp in another topic

I have 212 Evo + 4790K ... this is what i notice
your Vcore is what driving the temp. my OC to 4.4 only ( AsRock auto tune on advance setting only)

V = 1.176 = 30-34 C degree - Idle
V = 1.225 = 62-75 C .. but once i a while will go to 81C ( full load AIDA , OCCT , HyperPI stress test)

when i have my

V=1.09 temp only 25C (idle)
V = 1.25 ... the temp shot up to 90 .. average be 68-81 (full load)

i hope this help on figure out your temp.

quick note**
I had 2 fan and 1 fan set up .... i see maybe 1-2 temp different only.
also if your 2 fan 1 is faster or have different configuration .. then maybe it will created a turbulent with in the 2 fan ..

I would try just to run 1 fan stock to see there is a different
Also don't forget to go into Cmos to change your fan speed to Full

no .. you didn't put any spec on your rig

have nothing to go on ... how can we help ... i only put that so you can see the temp .. and the voltage

hopefully from that you can see what you do wrong and why the temp is so high

your voltage? , cooler ? , case ? .... so so manything why so hot .. but the base is your Vcore .. if it is 1.3+ .. any kind of air cool will get close to 100c

the most importance is your Vcore when full load ,, that what driving the temp .. doesn't matter if you OC or not

Is 60 degress hot for the 4790k?

If 60*c is your idle temperate, then yes its hot. I am guessing it could just be a simple matter of torquing the h100i correctly, or improperly applied thermal paste......

Its mostly at 45-50 but when i play games for along time it gets to 60

Its fine, the first post is misleading how ever...... it reads 100 C

It was 100 C but i fixed it and now it's at 60 at the most is that to high or is that OK and is there anyway i can make it less, I don't mind if i have to buy a new fan/cooler i will if i need i just want it really low

check your cooler might need to reset them -- but your temp 40 is not bad (maybe idle voltage is high)

playing a lot newer game will get to 60 .. that normal

check your idle voltage .. that is what driving the temp ... and if your temp is 40-50 then your idle voltage is little high

(i bet your idle voltage is 1.2-1.22.. that what most MB will set to if you have turbo boot in Advance)

idle voltage should only be 1.00 - 1.17 only then your idle temp will be way under 40 ...

check your OC .. or even because you set your turbo boot on advance
so many thing ... but the importance thing is getting your idle voltage low then when full load it still be low too

i do auto setting on my to 4.4 .. but i did set the voltage to 1.15 ... then i set everything on auto ..
my comp boot up to 1.176 so that the speed step and adaptive voltage adjust mine to 1.176

just play with it a little even those if you don't OC

hope this help you... good luck

George002000,

Core temperatures in the mid 70's are safe, but sustained temperature above 80C is too hot for processor longevity and stability.
