Hi All

I would like to find out if it makes sense to buy an Ausus Rampage black edition with the following components:

Processor - intel i7-4930k
Graphics Card - Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 ti or AMD Radeon R9 290x
Ram - Corsair Vengence 16 gb DDR3

Yes, since your CPU is an LGA 2011 socket, it'll work fine.. Also, it supports variety of RAM speeds, so there'll be no problem for you..

Thanks Agera One! I'm new at this but I'll get the hang of it soon.
Could I replace the Asus with a Gigabyte X79-UP4? It also supports an LGA 2011 socket.
The Asus is too pricey for the person I'm wanting to build it for.

Take a look at the Asus X79 Deluxe, like the Black it's one of the 'new' X79 (made with the IB-E CPU you are looking at in mind), and if going 16GB look to a 4x4GB set so you can utilize quad-channel

Yes of course, the gigabyte is way too less priced than that rampage, and it also supports quad-channel.. If it fits under you budget, go for it.. :)  Happy gaminggg ;)

Does every GB has those problems? Or the above specified mobo alone?

Yes I checked this with my supplier and they told me the same. GB have stopped making them apparently.
