Hi everybody i have a little issue i want to sort out. Basically there is a slight screen flicker whenever i play games on my newly built pc. Its not a lot and it seems to only happen every now and then, it doesn't disrupt my playing of the game or anything but i would like to find out the cause of it. I have updated the drivers to the current ones out which was 14.4 and then to the the beta one which was 14.7 but i still seem to have the problem. Again it's not as bad as some previously posted flickering problems, its only slight, but its still a bit worrying. All in all i just wanna know whether i should be worried. Is my graphics card faulty or can i just play on and not really worry about as its hardly noticeable? I am new to pc tech mumbo jumbo but i just wanna gain some peace of mind as its my first built and i don't want it to get worse. I have read some previous posts and it seems this has been a problem but i haven't found any real fixes. People refer to an update to the drivers but as the problems were posted months before i built my pc the drivers out now are newer than the ones referred to in previous posts. Has the problem not been fixed yet by AMD or is my card just messed up? Any advice or information on the problem would be helpful. Thank You!

I dont mean to be a total noob but again, its my first build and i want it to last me more than a few days.

Check to see if it is the monitor or the cable. It's not always the GPU that causes flicker. If you have interference it might cause a flicker. This can be from using an adapter, having the cables close to a large magnet or power source, or your monitor might have "adaptive contrast" turned on in the settings which causes it to brighten/dim when there is more/less ambient light.

1. Unplug the cables and wipe them off or blow out any dust. Make sure you connect them tightly.
2. Make sure the cable is not near or wrapped around other cables or next to speakers.
3. Check your monitor menu for adaptive contrast or any feature that is similar.

Hope this helps. Would hate for it to be a problem with the GPU itself.

Thank you for the help. I will tidy up all the cables however i don't think there's much i can do about keeping it from other cables. I'm also going to buy a new outlet extender as the one i have currently is really old and not exactly in good shape. Also from what i have noticed it seems to only flicker when i stand still in game or when i close and open the window. I just set it up so i have only played WOW i will see what happens in other games. Also i will try switching to hdmi and see if it does anything. It runs everything perfectly so i'm hoping its just the monitor or the cables. Thank you.
