My PC has only two DVI ports. I have two Samsung SyncMaster 710t monitors, one LG monitor and a LG HDTV. The LG monitor was hooked up to my PC so was one of the Samsung monitors. For the TV I bought USB to HDMI adapter. So I had 3 screens connected to my PC and working. One day I wanted to test something and pulled out the monitors from the computer, when I pluged them back in again, the Samsung monitor didn't show any picture. Just switching between analog and digital inputs. The connection was good. Windows detected the monitor. I even could move my cursor over to the monitor, but it would still be black. I switched the ports, I connected the 2nd Samsung monitor and still nothing.
What is causing this problem? I'm thinking that Windows or some else software is blocking the ability to send picture to the monitor. Because hardware seems to work(if I disconnect the monitor from the PC a little box floats saying "Check signal cable").
The LG monitor works on both ports. When i connected the Samsung monitor to the PC via USB to HDMI adapter using DVI to HDMI adpater it works.
Any help is appreciated.
