I own a Sapphire HD 7870 XT and i want run it in crossfire , i just wanted to ask if i could run it in crossfire with a HD 7870 GHZ edition or not.
The 7870XT is based on Tahiti LE chip (slightly crippled 7950), 7870GHz is Pitcairn based. So to answer your question, no you cant crossfire the two. However you can crossfire the XT with a 7950 if you can not find another Tahiti LE based card. http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/1860/radeon-hd-7870-xt.html
(at the bottom is a list of retail cards that use the chip)
my experience with crossfire/sli without watercooling is that your top card becomes very hot while intensive use you might consider selling your old gpu and buy a better one if you want better performance
