Can someone help me please. My physical stays pretty high, even when i am not using any programs or applications.

I also have a problem with my cpu's. They are kind of all over the place. At first before i downloaded and installed avast, my cpu's were averaging 55%-78%.
Right now though, they are averaging 3%-34%.Strange right. They still spike to 70%+ at times for no apparent reason.(¬‿¬)

Anyway, it seems for now, that the cpu's are down(temporarily i am sure), but my processes and physical and memory are up. How do i get those down now? Does anyone have any suggestions, or tips...anything? (◐.̃◐)

Hello thank you for responding. :-D My specs are: 2.30ghz Dual-Core cpu,
2.00GB of Installed physical RAM,
and 232GB hardrive. Hey does windows7 64 bit take up more room than windows7 32bit? I just put in a re-installation of windows7 64 bit, i had 32 bit on here, but i didn't have the disc to reinstall that, so i did 64 instead. :-/

err, yeah i think so. Do a couple things for me. First click start/search box/type "msconfig" and hit run/go to "Startup" tab/ uncheck all programs that you DONT want to start when windows starts. Windows 7 is designed for 4GB or more really. the best thing you can do do see noticeable improvements right away is buy an identical 2GB RAM stick as the one you have (unless its 2 x 1GB sticks, then try to get two more 1GB sticks)
