Hello guys, I want to build an APU system (low budget) and I want to buy a 4gb ram stick... would it be better to buy a 1866mhz 4GB ram stick or a 2400mhz ram stick... will there be big differences and can you give me a link for benchmarks? Thanks in advance

I've read reviews that says that IGPUs (APU) runs really much better the faster memory you have in the system. THe caveat is whether your mobo and CPU can run the memory at the frequencey you're paying for or if they will downclock to a frequency they can handle. Check what your motherbaord supports and check if you can (in Intel terms, not sure what AMD uses as the term for this) enable XMP for the memory specifications.

Yes they can run at 2400 (O.C.) max...

Yes, with an APU with an integrated GPU, they like fast sticks as a fair amount of DRAM goes to the integrated GPU, also a good idea to have 8GB or better since the DRAM used by the IGPU isn't available for normal CPU type use. Would suggest a 2x4GB set of DRAM minimum - the dual channel will also speed things up for both the processor and the iGPU

I saw a video yesterday on yt and they said all exactly these things :p  and they tested a 6800k apu in which they put once 2x4gb 1600mhz ram and then 2x4gb 2400mhz... the 2 2400 sticks could have 15fps more than the 1600 ones... so I guess it's much smoother for gaming! I will go then for 2x4gb G.skill 2400mhz which are 1,5v... thanks for the help.... helped a lot ;)
