My computer will not respond - I just get the Dell Self Test Feature Check box that floats around the screen. I've tried turning off the computer and the monitor but I still get the same thing. I am sending this on my laptop. The mouse works because I was able to plug it into the laptop and it works.

What you are seeing is actually being displayed by the monitor so it means that your PC is not displaying anything at all. This could be because of a no post/no boot problem, a video card problem or a power supply problem. If the PC is a Dell and under warranty, I would just bring it in for repair. If not, open the case up and look at the motherboard. Check if the fans are spinning and if the LEDs on the motherboard are lighting up when you press the power button.
