Kraken Pro problem

I recently purchased a kraken pro headset, interestingly enough I'm having problems with realtek already (Go figure) and I can't seem to get this to work, the hd audio manager software that came with my motherboard is giving me some interesting problems, I get to choose what the input for the jacks are, example if I plug in my mic, it asks me if I want to use my mic as a mic, line in, side speakers, etc.

It doesn't recognize when I plug in my headphone jack part to my split cable, but it does recognize the mic, and it allows me to choose to use mic, or headphones for that specific jack, if I select mic, I can use the mic, it sounds muddied and very unclear (Like I'm underwater) and when I choose headphones it works normal, I cannot use them at the same time, but the sound appears to work fine when I select it, it only allows me to choose an intput for the mic socket, not the headphone, it does recognize that the headphone input has something plugged into it though.

When right clicking the mic input, it gives me the option to "Connector retasking" to select if I want to use it for mic, or headphones, or side speakers, etc. The green input jack doesn't give me that option.

Using realtek audio that came with my msi gaming 7 z97 motherboard,

The headset works, used it with another laptop, earlier today, the front panel works, tried a pair of headphones and those work, it's not a hardware problem at all. When I get the input option for the jack insert, it acts like it only fully detects one of the split cables, and that cable has to be dedicated to mic, or headphones, and I have to choose between one or the other, when I pick the mic I get no sound, and the mic quality is terrible (Friends on raidcall tried helping me) and when I choose to have the input as headphones the headphones work fine, the sound comes through crystal clear, but the mic doesn't work at all. I'm confident it is a driver issue, any ideas would help, I spent my only saturday off in a month fiddling with this for... hours on end. : \
