Lately, according to Task Manager, Im using 52% of my physical Ram (4gb at 1333) when all I have open is Firefox and Skype. Im not sure why. Thats roughly a 20 percent increase. My Ram usually would float around 30-35% for those two applications. I did a fresh install of Windows 7 HP 64bit and it doesnt seem to have helped. The only way I can get it down to its 30% range is if I close all applications, put my PC to sleep/wake it then open Firefox. Its currently at 31%.
Also, I never payed attention to Firefox's recourse use til now but it runs at 300,000k+ I dont know if thats normal or not but to me it seems a bit high. When I close FF it clears 10-15%of my RAM. That doesnt seem right.
