Hey everybody,

I have a fairly nice workstation --- i7, 16GB of RAM, Windows 7 running on a SSD, but it seems the time it takes for my computer to process is getting worse.

What I'm referring to is, locking the screen, logging off, switching users. You can see examples here

As aforementioned, it's getting worse. When I built the computer, it was practically a quick flash. Now, it lasts for several seconds and I can't figure out what's causing it.

Should I invest in a graphics card? A better monitor?

Any help will be appreciated.

It sounds like a driver or bios/os problem, although from what ive read, this can be cause by a numerous amount of things so all you can really do is figure out what it is NOT and slowly isolate the problem. I would start by making sure all your drivers are up to date and also installed properly. Sometimes it is safer to install something like video drivers while in safe mode to help prevent conflicts. If your drivers are up to date, then I would check for hardware issues as well. Anything from lack of power supplied to components to something not connected properly. Although I am drawing at straws, hopefully this helps.
