Looking for a new GPU and I've kind of narrowed it down to a couple of models.
Either 770 2 BG/or 4, VS 280X or 290
how much Mem should I go with the GTX 770 2 ($322) or 4 ($410) and really the r9 290 ($410) is more realistic in price the 290x their too expensive
Which is better the 770 4GB or r9 290

Lastly, once time passes and the prices on GPU will fall I'm going to get another card so I'm going to go with 2 card sli or whatever AMD calls it.

BTW there is a real cheap 780 GPU for 430, do you guys think it’s a garbage model

Get the r9 290. The 280x competes with the 770. The 290 competes with the 780. However because the 290 is cheaper, get that. Superior to the 770. If you crossfire the 290 you'll be able to play 4k max settings no problem as AMD tends to do better at higher resolutions

I would go with r9 290(msi is OK and Cheap), i dont know where u fond a gtx 780 for 430$.
If u go crossfire in bf4 u can get max 200fps and min 80fps.
I think that u in bf4 get more FPS with 290 than with 780

Invest in 'higher' end product isn't always a bad thing.
Go for r9 290 I've had it for 3 months and it's been a fantastic performer. BUT never buy the reference, buy the custom cooled one like powercolor pcs+ or msi gaming or sapphire tri x.
The 780 option is good too but what I experienced is the 290 performs slightly better especially in high resolution, for a smaller price tag.
