I went to change adopter setting, then pressed Alt, moved to advanced, opened advance setting and moved LAN on top. It didn't worked. I reset the metric value and still windows7 giving priority to wi fi over LAN. What is the problem now? Please anyone guide.

You could just click on the wireless and disable it until you wanted to use it again. Your method is generally correct you likely made some small error metric the smaller number is preferred.
