Well im using DDR3 ram 4 Gigs , brand - transend and its kinda low quality.
i think its this one
http://www.flipkart.com/transcend-ddr3-1333-ddr3-4-gb-p...
If i put this one in
http://www.flipkart.com/corsair-vengeance-ddr3-4-gb-1-x...
what would happen?
or shd i just get regular speed ram if i want 8Gigs?
cuz getting 2 of corsair is a lil expensive

More about : quality ram

If you're looking to get 8gihs, both need the same sticks, however you might get issues getting said speed, even if they're both the same. I'd just get to new sticks if I were you.

Get 8 GB. Team sells 8 GB at about 70$ USD. Also, get at least 1866 MHz if you are doing any gaming or industrial design or stuff like that.

You would notice a speed increase
Both RAM DIMMs have a CAS 9 latency
The Corsair has a 1600MHz speed compared to the Transcend's 1333MHz speed.
Corsair is one of the top memory companies so you can expect a great product.
What applications/games do you usually run?

If you're gonna get 1866 try for a 1866/9 or 1866/8

Be nice to know what the DRAM is for - mobo/CPU? Know everyone is saying 1866, but you want to be sure your rig can run 1866.... ;)  no need to waste money on something you can't use to full spec ... just my thoughts on it

He wants to know what motherboard and CPU you have because the RAMs were listing might not be fully supported by it

Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) 32 GB
Memory Types DDR3-1333/1600
# of Memory Channels 2
Max Memory Bandwidth 25.6 GB/s
Your CPU only supports 1333/1600 RAM so if you got the RAM we were listing they'd be getting underclocked

That's why I was asking, H61 (1155 socket) supports up to 1600 - if you had gotten 1866 and paid a premium, it would have been wasted as the mobo and CPU could prob only run it at 1600 (maybe - some of the H61s only show support up through 1333

1866/8 or 1866/9 tells you the frequency and latency of the RAM.

1866 tells you that the ram is capable of 1866 MHz, and the 8 or 9 tells you the CAS latency.

The lower the CAS latency, the faster your RAM can respond to the processor

I see you have a CAS latency of 9, but the speed shown there is what the RAM is currently running at, not it's max speed.
Can you see if there is a physical label on your RAM that shows the speed?

sry for the absence guys but i got pneumonia!!
im fine now.
i was wondering if i shd just get 1 single stick of 8 gigs ram of 1333 ram.
and if u had any benchmarks for single channel vs dual channel

Yes, the single stick of Vengeance would outperform the Transcend.
Buying a second stick of that Vengeance to put in a second RAM slot would benefit you by giving your computer more RAM to work with without putting stress on the memory control unit.'

A single stick of 8 GB is okay, but going with two 4 GB sticks will increase both speed and efficiency.
