I was wondering what the general consensus was on having to build right now

Which scenario would be best for the next 2- 3 years of 1080 @ 60 fps + gaming on ultra settings.

Budget $1400-$1600

Option A)

Mid tower such as Corsair 450d + H60 cooler
8 gigs of 1600 ddr3
Z97 mobo + i5 4690K or i7 4790K @ 3.9 - 4.4
GTX 770 SC or similar AMD card

or

Option B)

Wait until Q4 2014 for

8 gigs of 2133 ddr4
X99 mobo + Haswell E i7 5930K @ 4.0
maxwell GTX 870 or similar AMD card?

I'm already doubting that the ddr4 or the x99 will matter alot, or that the i7 5xxx will be any better if even as good as a 4.4 clocked devil's canyon, but I hear good things about the 8 series of nvidia GPU's

Any advice would be appreciated.

First of all, the speed of RAM while gaming isn't going to do much, Linus says it all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWgzA2C61z4 .You only really need 1600mHz, Corsair and Kingston are reliable brands. 8GBS Is great, You do not need more :)

By 60fps I am guessing you mean ultra on BF4 standards? For a GPU I would recommend the GTX760 by either Asus or MSI. The card is very trusting and I believe it can reach those standards. I use a GTX770 personally and it is amazing. That may fit you too :)

For your CPU I would recommend a 4670K or 4690K i5 because they are great gaming CPU's. The real difference between the i7 and the i5 is not that much, but if you insist on the i7, get the 3770k, awesome CPU.

For an SSD (which you SHOULD use for your OS and Games or Lag intensive programmes ) you should go for Samsung, Kingston or Crucial. 120gb+ will do you fine.

1TB WD or Seagate, Obvious...

For a case I would recommend any Corsair one to be honest. They are sturdy and do the job. You may like the c70 or if you want cheaper the 300r.

Your mobo depends on the CPU LGA you have. Asus and ASRock will do you just don't overspend on something stupid like the ROG series, its really just branding.

I would recommend getting a refurbished h80i or h100i from somewhere like scan, they are cheap and work like charms.

I think you should wait for the 870/860, not for the cpu,Mobo or the Ram.

Hope I could help! :D
