so I just installed an h100i onto my fx-8350 and overclocked it to 4.5 ghz. when I ran OCCT I noticed that the socket temperature reached around 50 early on and then slowly climbed and did not stop climbing. the core temp was a steady 45. I know that socket is supposed to be 10 more then core so more than 20 seems a bit insane. how can I fix this and should I just ignore this? and im running an m5a99fx pro r2.0

Seems fine to me :)

I have the same problem with my m5a99fx pro 2.0 and I can't tell if its a misread error or not..the socket temp will hit 75c at 4.3ghz OC and 1.275v which isn't a lot. The core/packet is usually 15-20C colder under full prime95 load. But the packet stops while the socket keeps climbing. Makes me wish I got the gigabyte 8+2 phase board instead but my windows is tied to this set up :(

Using a hyper 212 evo and fx 8320 same mobo
