Well, as the title says, i'm not sure which one to get, i mean, if i get the 4820k it would be easier to upgrade, but i dunno, help!

Hi, would this motherboard work with this processor without having to flash it first?

and given that the 4790k is nearly £40 more expensive than the 4820k, would you still recommend this combo?

Thanks.

I was in the same predicament, I ended up going with the I7-4820K

My Reasons are Its supports up to 128GB ram (4790K only supports 32GB ram)

The i7-4820K has 40 PCI/SLI Lanes. (4790K only has 16)

I run dual GTX 970's and wanted full x16 x16 SLI for both cards and with the 4790K that is not even an option.

The I7-4820K was also cheaper.

The new LGA-2011V3s are to expensive, Id have to get a 600 dollar LGA-20011V3 to have the 40 PCI lanes and enable the full potential of SLI.

Hope that works. THE LGA-2011 platform is the same price almost as the LGA 1150 right now...
