Z87X-UD3H "PWM" Headers and how to connect my fans now?

Hi,

I have 4x 4-pin Enermax Fans but only have 3x 4-pin headers and 1x 3-pin header on my motherboard. I want to use all 4 fans, but couldn't so I got an Akasa PWM splitter. Akasa Thermal Solution I put this into one of the 4-pin headers on the motherboard and put two of the Enermax fans into it. The two fans not in the splitter (in the other two 4-pin headers) I can change the fan speeds fine with through SpeedFan, but the other two in the splitter I can't. They stay at 100% RPM. The RPM reading is fine on SpeedFan, but I cannot change the speeds. I also tried it in the CPU_OPT Header to no avail. This leads me to believe the 4-pin headers aren't actually PWM? If so, how am I going to put all 7 of my fans in when I get my two new one's?

If you've ordered the one I was suggesting, it won't have that issue. It simply splits the header into two outputs and eliminates one fan's feedback, getting all its power from the MB header.

That's probably because the feed back wire (yel) is from both fans now and confusing the software. Look on the male ends of the splitter and see if one of them has 4 pins and one of them has 3 pins like this: http://images17.newegg.com/is/image/newegg/12-162-026-TS?$S300W$
That is the type of splitter that will allow just one of the fans to provide the RPM feedback.

Does that splitter actually have a Molex wired into it also? Of course, you'd want to leave that disconnected. Otherwise the fans will always receive a steady +12V and run full speed.

Apparently that splitter is wired so that the +12V is not picked up from the MB header. Instead it is fed via the Molex connector. Must be so they can piggy back all the fans w/o over loading the header. I just noticed that.
