I ran into a problem when i updated my asus z97 deluxe bios and now windows refuses to load, it gets past the windows logo then enters mouse control then blue screens. i have tried changing the bios to the previous version, removing graphics card, and my 2nd and 3rd hdd the disk drive also removed many programs that it would allow me to but still wont work My motherboard is working fine its not telling me anything is wrong. So it must be on the 1st hdd. i tried to reinstall windows but i need access to the os to do so. I've tried installing it on my 2nd hdd with no luck and does not allow to be put on my 3rd. so i have tried to load via the disk and then reformat the hdd but i can't seem to get it to not try load the full os from disk (by the way i am typing this in safe mode). How do i wipe a HDD without access to the os.

Any help is welcome
please remember i an still learning the way pc hardware and software work as this is my first proper system and nether needed to do this before

For future reference, IDE is the most compatible mode. If you install Windows with IDE mode and then change the BIOS to AHCI (to improve performance, for example), your system will crash every time. You have to make a tweak in the registry to change the mode in Windows before changing.

Double check that all of your storage devices have both their data and power connectors firmly attached. Good luck!

Um for some reason its now loaded the OS. I did a bit of messing around in the BIOS but I didn't change the sata settings. I just reconnected my other HDDs and now its working. Not sure why it stopped working in the first time. Thank you for your response. :) (sometimes I hate technology)
