Solution
You need to connect the 2 cards using the crossfire connector, you also need to make sure both your cards are crossfire capable, sapphire makes crossfire and non-crossfire models of the same card. You also need to activate crossfire in your catalyst control center.

Screen flickering when installing driver is to expected. What you can do is install the drivers and use the driver cleaner. You can also make sure both gpu's are working by putting in one at a time. Resetting BIOS to their default settings can also be helpful. if you are crossfiring after a long time, dust can pile up in the second PCI slot, messing up the connection.
