1- I don't think you "need" i5 4690. Get the cheapest haswell i5 or something like 4590.

2- You will not need a Z97 board because you won't overclock.

3- You may get a cheaper case.

4- Do you need a 2TB drive? A ssd? Why not try hybrid drives?

5- Get something like GTX 770 or R9 280X with the money you have saved :)

Side note: I am not from USA therefore I don't know the prices. But getting a better GPU with the money you have saved from other components is a no-brainer!

Yes I would have told him to get a 280/280x but as he said he has already ordered it. I believe s/he's just looking for our opinions.

1. Honestly that's not going to save any money at all. If you want to save money you should suggest going with a less expensive motherboard if you're not going to overclock.

2. Yes this is true.

3. I wouldn't go too cheap on the case because there's a lot of flat out garbage once you go below $60. There's a lot of brands to avoid in this area and I wouldn't touch a lot of stuff in this category with a 10 foot pole.

4. Why a hybrid drive? Again you're not going to save any money here, and you'll especially compromise on performance by going with a hybrid drive.

5. Can't really argue with that but again it all depends on how you budget.

There is stuff he could change, but he's ordered everything so don't rain on his parade. It's a good build, it will run on ultra with good fps and it will be a huge upgrade. Be happy Johhn123 :D

And hybrids are POS.
