I'm trying to get a USB Wireless Receiver to work with my computer. When I plug it in, it's detected for a moment, then not for a moment, then is again, and so on. The Windows USB plugged/unplugged sounds repeatedly play, and if I go onto the devices and printers screen, I can see the device disappearing and reappearing constantly.
This happens on every USB port on my computer, which includes 2.0 and 3.0 ports. The device itself is USB 2.0. Other USB devices work fine.
My computer is Windows 7 x64. The device is working perfectly fine on my Windows 8 x32 laptop, and it worked perfectly fine on an older Windows 7 x64 desktop in the past.
I've tried updating the motherboard chipset drivers, downloading drivers for the device, removing said drivers and transferring the ones it automatically downloads to my laptop. Nothing changes.
I'm clueless what the issue is. Ideas?
