Realtek HD Audio won't respond

Hi,

I recently got a new graphics card so I deleted my old gpu catalyst and driver before installing the new one. When I installed the new one it didn't have a vga connector so I installed the old one back. I installed all the software back but there was something wrong. I couldn't hear sound from my headphone; when I plugged in one of my usb speaker it worked when I set it as default. But my headphone was set to default and it didn't work. My headphone isn't broken I tested on my old laptop. Please help me!

Realtek Hd Audio won't work. it shows the volume going up and down though but no sound!

You probably installed the wrong driver. I had similar problem where on my volume on my laptop worked fine but then when i used speakers or headphones on it, it didnt work. Try typing in the model of your laptop + Realtek Hd Audio Driver on google...

I've uninstalled the realtek and installed the newest version of it and no luck at all. My usb speaker works but not headphones. And also I've tested my headphone so can't say it's broken.

That should work, try one. But you'll have to disable the on-board one first in Device Manager if there's no way to disable the on-board audio in the BIOS, otherwise the two sound adapters both enabled will cause a resource conflict and new sound card won't work. Double-check all BIOS pages to make sure there is no way to disable it there.

On some motherboards the on-board audio may be automatically disabled when a PCI sound card is installed, so you may not need to disable it manually.

Hey,

I checked device manager which one do I uninstall in the Sound, video and game controllers category? There's AMD High Definition Audio Device, Realtek High Definition Audio and USB speaker. Usb speaker is the one that works. And realtek high definition Audio is the one that doesn't work; in the volume mixer it says there's sound but no sound coming out of the headphones. Thanks in advance.
