Hi there Asus Gurus. I'm planning a build based on i7 and Asus Z97ProWifi and was hoping to start with 2x8Gb 1600 GskillX however that doesn't seem listed on your compatibility table? However G-Skill X 4x8 is? Can I safely put in 2x8 for starters? Thanks for your advice.

You can put the RAM in with no problems. I don't look at compatibility tables. I rather look at what type of RAM it supports and go on from there. It should support your RAM. Perhaps its just stating the max compatible RAM? ( 32 gb is max for your mobo btw)

Hmm thanks for your swift reply mate. It's pretty specific with some sticks/arrangements mind:

I'd hate to spend a couple of hundred $$ on RAM when I get to it and find they don't work. PCPARTPICKER allows them but I've read that can be fallible too.

Tops, thanks for the extra info mate. Would you think those 1866's would be OK in 2x8 config? I'd like to keep 2 slots free for another 2 x 8 when I can afford? Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
