Hey everyone, hope all is well.

I'm in a pretty difficult situation. Recently after a good year or so of usage and wear my audio jack port on my ASUS ROG G750 broke so I can no longer use it with my headphones. This is definitely something that I would love to fix. Unfortunately after doing some research it may not be possible or cheap enough in order to get that done. So right away I decided to look into USB audio adapters since I have like 4 usb ports on the laptop and I came across several interesting choices that I'd like to get further input on a board like this before purchasing.

Now I started off the search by finding cheap products that I was almost ready to buy until reading the reviews including those adapters from Syba and Logitech. According to the reviews the sound quality is greatly hindered. Now I am not the pickiest person in the world however with a $1200 laptop the way it is and as far as I can tell great audio from the built in headphone port I'd be willing to spend anything less than $100 for good quality. I came across similar more beefier sound card products from Diamond Xtreme and Asus Xonar but was wondering if this is the correct way to go. Can I get anything cheaper with still good sound quality or do these two adapters fit my needs perfectly, Asus being the more expensive option.

Also I apologise if this is in the wrong section, wasn't 100% sure where this belonged.

Thanks

How much to spend on a DAC (which is what those USB - Audio adapters are, Digital to Analog Converters) is pretty reliant on how good whatever your sound setup is.
If your running ~$100 or less headphones or 2/.1 speakers, really wouldn't worry about it, just dont get the absolute cheapest one. Beyond that and $30 options make sense. If you have a sound setup thats worthy of a $100 DAC, then you should already know what to get TBH.
