I have a HP Pavilion p7-1439. Last week I shut it down normally that night. The next morning tried to start the CPU and nothing happened. No beep, no lights. Unplugged and plugged it back in NOTHING. Swapped out psu for the original, nothing again. Took psu to local shop to test. Both are dead. Upgraded psu couple week prior to this event. Old psu was working when I removed it from cpu. PLEASE ANY HELP IS WELCOMED!

It seems he already did,

The shop should probably look at the motherboard too.Let them look at the whole pc instead of walking in with just parts.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I took the PC in and it does look like the motherboard has taken a dive. Because funds are tight I didn't have a diagnostic check of the other components ie. Ram, Video card, processor. What is the likelihood that those got jacked up as well? It may be a sound investment to have those checked as well? (Rhetorical, I guess)

I like that suggestion. Got a MSI a78m-e45 board from amazon with new PSU (550w) and CM N520 heatsink. Put processor and ram in fired it up and ...... No video? fans spin up, but no activity in harddrive. The power button powers up fans but will not turn it off. Still using HP case. Looks like there is something crossed up, but my research is showing front panel connection for MSI board is same as HP board..... so what gives?
