Hi there people, I am considering to rebuild my old PC. The budget is not huge, however I have already got some components which I think might be saved from the previous PC. I have a Samsung Spinpoint F1 DT 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM hard drive which I think is still capable. now I'm not sure if the ram is worth keeping. It's this one http://pcpartpicker.com/part/kingston-memory-kvr1333d3n9k24g . I can get a pair of 4 gigs at 30$ at my place. This would make room in my budget, however I will leave that to you guys :). The other thing which can be saved is the PCI. It's Chieftec APS-500S 500W and yes it's a questionable brand but I never ran into any problems with it.
Here's what I'm thinking about:

The Chieftec is made by Sirtec, certified 80plus Bronze but has 2 x 12v rails. Its not in tiers 1, 2a or 2b of http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html. It's fromt he eastern block - http://translate.google.com/translate?depth=1&hl=es&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.easycom.com.ua/power/chieftec_aps-550sb/%3Flang%3Dru

I wouldn't use it. I'd recommend a Seasonic 520, XFX 550 or Antec HCG 520M instead

Your motheboard only has 3+1 phases and no heatsinks on the vrm. You shouldn't ever try overclocking overclocking with it. I'd recommend Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 instead.

Yeah I thought the same. I don't know a lot about motherboards so I would probably go with your recommendations. Are there any better builds for this money? Are the CPU and GPU good? Should I stick with my old ram?

A 1tb drive is about $50.

So you're after a $550 build then just use your own hdd.

eg

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($105.99) Microcenter In store
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($70.91 @ Newegg)
Memory: Team Xtreem Dark Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($64.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($52.92 @ Amazon)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 270 2GB TurboDuo Video Card ($159.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($37.99 @ Micro Center)
Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ NCIX US)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($19.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $572.76

Thanks for your help. I would like to keep it as low priced as possible. I will continue to use my hard drive. And I don't need a case of or an optical drive.
