standard gaming pc....8g of ram 1600 speed or faster at 1.5v or less. main hard drive one tb or larger. if you have the funds put in a 120-250g ssd as the boot drive. no frills cases would be the r200/r300 cosiar cases. intel mb would be the newer h97 if your not over clocking or needing two gpu (sli or crossfire) a good entry mb is the asus-a.
look at toms hardware review of the gpu. look at the games you want to play and there frame rate. if you buy a lower end gpu you have to turn down the video size or the extra video features to get higher frame rates.

I'm also new to building my first pc. I've learned a few things so far, I will share them with you.
-You don't need to overclock unless you have an older system that runs behind the requirements.
-You don't need liquid cooling unless you are overclocking.
-You don't need more than 120fps, but 60fps isn't unreasonable.
-You don't have to build a PC to get a great gaming pc or a good deal. Buy an average PC with the CPU you want, then just add a good GPU.
-IF you really want to build, figure out your budget first. Then do research. Lots of research.
-Here's a good budget build I've seen that isn't that expensive. You can upgrade the parts you really need....
CPU AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor $118.00 @ Amazon
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard $44.99 @ Micro Center
Memory A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $80.99 @ Amazon
Storage Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $49.99 @ Amazon
Video Card PowerColor Radeon R9 270X 2GB TurboDuo Video Card $169.99 @ Newegg
Case Rosewill Line-M MicroATX Mini Tower Case $35.45 @ Amazon
Power Supply Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply $47.99 @ Micro Center
Total $547.40, not including an OS or a disc drive.

actually no i7 is better than i5 when it comes to rendering but gaming does not requires i7 he can buy i7 but not fully utilize it in games so i have suggest i5.......
&
i think 780 ti SLI will perform better in comparision to the option given, but if you are gaming at much higher resolutions than normal and turning AA(anti-aliasing) very high then the r9 295x2 is better because of the 1024-bit and 8 gb of VRAM. but in normally 780ti in sli outperforms the r9 295x2

DayZ at ultra doesn't require much aside from that build. No one should spend more than $1,500 unless you plan on running multiple, intensive programs at once or playing on 3 screens. If you have the money, spend it, but you don't need an i7 or 2 GPUs for basic ULTRA gaming on a single screen. Most games can't even take advantage of high end hardware yet and when they can, it'll be cheaper and easy to upgrade a GPU at that point.
