Hello,

I few weeks ago I posted can I change the language of Windows 7 if I reinstall it, someone answered to me saying that you can.

I was however wondering what do I need to do. Do I need to backup all the files I want (or all?) then in the bios set my boot drive as my optical drive, and put my Windows 7 CD in the optical drive and install Windows 7 again.

Also once I am in the installation process, do I change the language I want at the begging and format my drive and reinstall Windows 7 again?

I'm quite confused. Help would be needed.

(I'm using Windows 7 in Polish but wan't to sell this PC but I live in the UK)

Thanks

That won't work because it says on the web page 'If you don't see the list of display languages, you need to install additional language files first.' However I can't get more display languages because I'm using Windows 7 Professional.

(I can only change Keyboard, and changing languages won't show up)

For me that doesn't change the language of the computer, it's still all in Polish just that the dates are in the English and times

says "To install a different language - Multilingual User Interface (MUI) - you need to have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate
Type Anytime Upgrade in the Search programs and files box in the Start menu and click on the Windows Anytime Upgrade icon. From there, you can buy an Anytime Upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate. Then your can enter your Anytime Upgrade product key and perform a simple upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate so you can install a different language.

If you are in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US you can use Anytime Upgrade. If not you will need to buy Windows 7 Ultimate, or buy Windows 7 in the language you need.

Great, it won't work, it says it's not available for me.

Can I not just reinstall Windows 7 Professional in English?

(I still have my disk for Windows, and the key)

Another thing you can try is download the appropriate ISO for English version here: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Then create a DVD from it and use your existing Product Key (not 100% sure the key will work though, since it was issued with Polish version).

You can still sell it without an OS if that doesn't work out, though admittedly it will be less attractive without one.
