sound on laptop

Solution
You might want to try either booting into safe mode, which will force your computer to run the generic audio drivers, and not the ones specific to your sound. If that doesn't work, try another OS by booting onto a USB drive with a Linux Distro on it, and see if that works. If it doesnt even work with linux, there might be a problem with your hardware.

One thing you should remember is that you shouldn't declare it final as long as you haven't tried absolutely everything. My friend's laptop's trackpad wouldn't work and he was about to get rid of it, but we booted Linux on it and it worked and we found a way to get it working again on Windows.

Try this and tell me if it works:

1) Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'

2) Right click on a blank space on the list of audio devices and click on 'show disabled devices'

3)Right-Click on speakers, then 'Enable' them. Next, right-click and set as default device.

4) Try out a video on YouTube or anything else that normally plays sound

5) Done! It should work now!

(Does that work for you?)
