I'm going to buy a new PC and i want it only for gaming. I will be recycling my hard drive, a western digital caviar green 2 TB, the CD writer, card reader, and i don't remember more.

The option i see more viable is to buy a pentium g3258 and OC it.

The graphic card will be a SAPPHIRE RADEON VAPOR-X 280X from a friend for 200€.

The rest of the computer will be:

Case: Zalman Z3 Plus USB 3.0
41,20€

Mother Board: Asrock Z97 Anniversary
79,30€

Processor: CPU Intel Pentium G3258 20th Anniversary Edition
59,20€

CPU Cooler: Cooler CPU NOCTUA NH-U12S 1x NF-F12
61,70€

RAM: G.Skill TridentX 2x4GB DDR3 2400Mhz 1.65V
76,10€

Power supply: Aerocool StrikeX 600W Modular 80Plus Bronze
57,00€

SSD: Mushkin Chronos 2,5" SSD 120 GB
57,70€

Total: 632,2 €

Mi questions are: Will this PC bottleneck in any component? Will be good for gaming? Will i have to change something to buy it?

The prices and the page are Spanish :p

Solution

For games that are both CPU-intensive and GPU-intensive, yes. While the Pentium G3258 is a great overclocking CPU, your motherboard is not sufficient in overclocking it. Built on a 4 power phase design, it simply cannot handle a high overclock. This will in turn bottleneck your graphics card.

Yes; it's a pretty good gaming right so far.

I highly recommend that you replace your power supply with a more reputable brand like Seasonic, XFX, Corsair (not the CX models), EVGA G2, OCZ, Antec. See this thread for more details.

I thought that motherboard will be good, was specifically designed for this CPU.

Witch other low price mother board do you recommend me? I will play, bioshock infinity, tomb raider, dark souls, the witcher 2, and league of legends.

Thanks, one doubt, teh 2400 ram will work fine?

This? its a little expensive but its modular and one of the brands you said

No; you cannot overclock your CPU on that motherboard. Furthermore, you would need BIOS version 0805 to support the Pentium G3258. If you buy that motherboard and it does NOT come with BIOS v0805 or later, then you won't be able to boot. Nothing will happen and you will not be able to update the BIOS either because you cannot boot up.

Perfect, i prefer a gold vs a bronze , i sacrifice modular but...

I wanted to point that i chose the asrock z97 anniversary because has an auto OC, lox but it has. I have no idea of overclocking so i can use the auto 4,2 until i learned to put the micro to 4,8 which is my objective.

You told me that the extreme 3 is the best option but i saw that the asus z97-k cost just 2€ more. People say asus is better but in this case is worth the 2 €.

Thanks :)

I will pick the extreme 3, the asus has a 4 phase connector, what you told me it's bad, so i go for the asrock which has 8 phase :p
