is an i5 4690k enough for light editing?

Basically what the title says. Would a 4690k be enough for light video/graphic editing? Or should I really invest in an i7 4790k? By light video/graphic editing I mean some occasional art and editing videos for YouTube.

Yes. It will more than suit your needs.

Basically the only difference is the i7 has a bigger L3 cash, and hyper threading.

I agree with Robax. If you're still curious though, there are many benchmarks available for each chip(then you can decide if the time you may save will be worth the extra cash). I assume you will be overclocking?

It will be enough, but the i7 will encode quicker
