Gaming PC - $1500 budget

Solution
For all intent and purposes, the build I posted is roughly the same price, but with a better CPU.

If it's JUST for gaming, an i5 is fine. If you plan to do some video editing and rendering down the road, stick with the xeon. I chose a Gigabyte mobo just because. Could probably stick with your original one. 2x4 RAM, better than 1x8. At that price point, might as well go for 80+ Gold.

The base cost is $0.02 more and the total cost after promos, mail-in rebates, and shipping is $11.60 less. I'd recommend buying a mechanical keyboard instead of spending $40.00 on a mostly regular keyboard.

With a really nice mechanical keyboard. I'm partial to brown switches, so that's what I put in.

For video editing, an i7-4790 will actually outperform a Xeon in gaming.

Good build. I'd only change to a 280X and also to this memory: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f32133c9d8gxl

2x4gb would be much better.
fair enough on the mechanical keyboard. I love mine. Most everything else just feels... mushy.
My friend has that mouse, or something like the 400s or 500s or the like. He loves it. I used it once. I love it.

okay so i have now two pc builds one with xeon (no overclocking possibility) and one with i5 (could be overclocked later if i buy cpu cooler)
the i5 build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/L6kst6

xeon build:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Hvppzy

in both builds i choose 2 extra 140mm fans for airflow like this: http://www.legitreviews.com/images/reviews/1755/500R_airflow.jpg

i'm trying for blue-white-black color combination (i have blue mouse and keyboard + case fans)
i think it's gonna look awesome:D

soooo.. which build should i get? xeon or i5
