I currently have 8 GB of ram. Would 8 more GB of ram make much difference in real world usage or would my system be more likely to crash under heavy loads? See my system specs below.CPU-Z TXT Report

Hahaha- normally posters start by not posting enough system info. Is it safe to assume that you do video or 3D editing/rendering, and or extensive image work?
If so, then yes, more RAM will result in tangible real-world benefits. 16GB would be much better, and depending on the programs you're using, you can probably put 32GB to good use.

Thanks. Right now I am overclocked to 3.6 GHz and running stable with the exception of a prime95 torture test failing to complete ocasionally.
Have you seen instances of more RAM causing instability or is it just a matter of setting the RAM timings to the sweet spot?

If the board supports it, which yours does, you should be able to run up to 16GB (4x4) DDR2 1200 without issue - best choice would be a matched set rather than a mixed set, even if the speed and timings are identical. If your system is failing Prime95, I would suspect that it's your overclock stability creating the issue rather than your RAM. Have you tried running the Small FFTs test on Prime? If it passes that, but fails the blend test, I would run Memtest to see what those results are. If it fails Small FFTs, your OC may not be as stable as you think.

Of course Prime95 is not representative of normal use - if you're not having any problems with your OC anywhere else and you're not cooking your chip, then it's your call whether to mess with it or not.

The test it has failed to complete some of the time is the one that teat a lot of Ram. I am over volted to only 12.7. The CPU is supposedly capable of 1.35V. In real-temps none of my cores have ever went past 60*C with the CPU and GPU fully loaded. Hmmm. now that I think back, the prime blend test failed to complete while I was also running MSI afterburner with Kombuster loading the GPU to max. I will look into the Memtest next week when I get a chance. Thanks for the response.
