AMD vs intel gaming build

I'm building my first gaming PC and I can't decide between AMD and Intel, I'm on a budget of 1500 or a little over.

Why are you having trouble deciding between the FX8350 and i5 4690k? That should be an easy choice. The Intel build is better hands down no contest. The FX8350 is 2 years old now and no longer competes. Pretty much any Z97 motherboard will work.

If you want AMD, get the FX-9590, at least.

I would suggest that you go with the Intel build, but use the Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB Vapor-X Video Card instead of the Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB DirectCU II Video Card, because the R9 is cheaper (not much but still cheaper

) and has better core speed, memory, pixel rate and power consumption

That's just a suggestion though
