Hello all,

First of all, sorry for my english. I gonna try explain my problem.

I have a weird frame drop, it only happen in GW2, in others game no (like FF XIV, Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, etc).

I start play, and like 1 or 2 minute after, the frames starts to drop. The weird if that happen everywhere, with a zerg of alone in a map.

The rate are: 60 to 47, 60 to 38. So the game are in normal way to "slow way" constantly, every 1 or 2 secs i have the drop, is almost imposible to play.

Before, i wasn't have this problem, i try put the graphical lowest possible (with the automatic opcion) and is the same...

UPDATE: I notice, when i'm stand in one position, this problem NOT HAPPEN, when when i start moving, the frames drop =/

I tried repairing the game, but nothing...
I don't know guys, any ideas?

Thanks.

GeForce GTX 550 ti

Then it's probably your CPU. "Guild Wars 2 has never WELL OPTIMIZED for amd processors, I think so. GW2 needs more power from CPU i.e., single core performance is likely to enhance the gaming experience in which Intel has already won over AMD."

You can still try other options like changing the theme, stopping the services and so on but they are not going to help you well on this part. It's the only game that pesters you with severe frame drops. I've been searching online about the resolution for this issue but went in vain. Most of the GW2 players are facing the major lags during the gameplay.
Hello OP (Lacryman),

First of all, Welcome to Tomshardware. Let me shoot out few things that might enhance the performance -

1. Your RAM is unstable (if 5 "GB" Ram). Only 2, 4, 8 and 16 GB RAM are allowed and considered to be stable.

2. Go to Power Options and enable HIGH PERFORMANCE.

3. It is very important to have your motherboard graphics (Integrated) disabled when you have installed a dedicated GPU like GTX 550 ti. You can perform this operation in BIOS. This will drastically enhance your graphics card's performance on your computer.

4. Make sure your video and audio drivers are up-to-date. Do not let them to be obsolete.

Download and install this free software, and update the drivers with no hassles. It's virus-free and safe.

5. Flash the BIOS. There are chances that games would lag if BIOS version is outdated. I am saying this in my personal experience.

Hope it helped, OP. Have fun!

Thanks for the answer Rider!

I'll do all that, i tell you later.

I have one question, i can put another GB of ram to have 6 in total, which is the best, have 4 or 6? Because i can't have 8 right now.

And, i don't know how to disable the gpu in bios. :(

You are most welcome.

And 6 is not a stable one. if you couldn't afford 8, then install just 4. As said before, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB are the permitted sizes.

Well Raider

I'll do all, except disable the GPU integrated because i don't know how to do it. But i have the same problem. I just enter the game, i have the rate frame drop. :(

Okay. Before doing this, let's see if it's already disabled in your machine. Go to Device Manager -> Display Adapters -> After this, it should display only your GTX 550 ti.

Okay, all are fine then. But there is a best way to test the temperature.

http://www.passmark.com/products/bit.htm

Download and Install BurnInTest from the above link. Then, Click "Quick Tests" from the menu bar and then select "Maximum CPU Temp". Not only that, you can test the other components as well. For example - To test the graphics card and its temp, run 3D Graphics and it must display PASSED after few minutes of test run.

Perfect, is running, it's take like 10 mins, i will tell you the result. But this maybe be the problem? I really don't know why only happens in GW2, but in other games no, like FF XIV, i can play it at 60 fps, i only have drop when i have a LOT of ppl around, but is estable, not have a rate.

Hope the results are positive for all the components. In the meantime, let me see if I can find any more solutions.

Edit: Guild Wars 2 has never WELL OPTIMIZED for amd processors, I think so. GW2 needs more power from CPU i.e., single core performance is likely to enhance the gaming experience in which Intel has already won over AMD.
