monitor resolution help

how to know what p is my monitor its not widescreen it is 17 inch lcd 1280x1024 so what is my p 720p 1080p???

  1. It is neither of those. It is not a "P resolution at all. "P" refers to 16:9 resolution monitors with progressive scan and yours is an old 4:3 model.

    P doesn't mean anything. It's not even real. Just an abbreviation for some monitor resolutions.

    Example: instead of saying 1920x1080, you say 1080p.

    Well yes it is very real and does mean something. The "P" means Progressive Scan as apposed to "I" meaning Interlaced. It's not necessarily tied to any resolution, it's just the way the screen in refreshed, interlaced is every other line is redrawn, progressive means every line is drawn at the refresh rate.
