Hello,

Just about 4-5 days ago, I noticed that my computer decided to start struggling with low demanding games such as Terraria and League of Legends. I'm not sure what could be the culprit but the only thing I thought that could've affected it was the avast anti-virus update. But I since removed that and using AVG and no luck.

After playing League of Legends for a while, in one game, the FPS dropped to about 15~ while the GPU usage was around 0%. Now finding this out, when I play Terraria, the GPU usage is very spikey and my FPS is around 30.

I've just changed the PSU today to a CM650 and it's still the same.

Here are some readings when playing terraria:

My Computer Spec:

i5-4670k 3.4GHz CPU
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
CM650 Corsair PSU
MSI Z87-G45 Motherboard
Samsung 840 250GB SSD
Western Digital 500GB HDD
R9 280x MSI Graphics Card
Corsair 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 64Bit Professional

Thank you in advance.

Have you installed your AMD Catalyst drivers?
If so what verison?
You may wish to reinstall your drivers again.

The current AMD driver I am using is 14.4 and already have re-installed them, used driver sweeper and rolled back to 13.11 driver and still the same so back to this one.

Check if your cables are plugged in securely.
Do you have another system to test your R9 280X?

Unfortunately I do not have another system to test my graphics card in.

Nevermind, sorted out the problem myself.

Just did a fresh install of Windows and it seems to have cleared the problem. Must have been an update from the anti-virus that messed with the system.

Thanks for the help anyway :)
