is it just me, or do apple seem to restrictive on their users. they should realise that pro users on the PC like to overclock their processors and graphics to the max. And why don't they ever use SLi and crossfire in their main products ( Mac Pro is exception as it uses dual FirePros in crossfire). this results in their graphics being underpowered and outdated ( 780m on 1440p iMac lol).
and why are they not value orientated?. And finally, why do they use LAPTOP graphics in their Macs ( 780m on iMac, why not throw a custom 780 Ti in there for total domination)

I love apple, being a happy iPad user myself. just wondering why Apple don't take these four things that people love from the Custom PC market and use it to their advantage. This means that they wont be lagging behind the custom PC market like this ( especially for PC Gamers).

Just something on the top of my head, needed to get it out since I am building my own PC.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this matter.
All responses appreciated.
Thanks

What other company, aside from dedicated gaming companies use K series CPUs and provide SLI motherboards? NONE.

It is too much for the average user and could easily go wrong and be a liability. No company would ever give the user this much control.

Have you only just realised that Apple is restrictive on their users? You're a little late to the party.

Because 300W in an AIO doesn't work. Name any AIO with a desktop GPU. 780m isn't outdated, though. Current-gen.

Apple is basically the opposite of value...

There are reasons why the enthusiast community and apple do not mix well.

no, I have been with apple for many years, I know that, I was just wondering why. and current gen is 880m ( Maxwell laptop GPUs).thanks so much for the response btw. but why not SLI in their iMac? works good on laptops ( Alienware 18 880m 2-way SLi is an example).

Because they are not designed for gaming, or marketed to gamers. Plain and simple.

Linus did a custom AIO with a Desktop GPU a while back. Check his channel: it is under one of his playlists.

Thanks guys. The 'thin' wars are getting a little out of hand. Apple should really focus on performance right now rather than design (thinner and lighter) IMO.

Design is what sells to the masses.
