Hey guys!
On my PC I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate, but my Internet is pretty slow, so here is my question. I have a few games installed trough steam on my PC, but it took me quite a while to get them downloaded. Can I just put my new components in, without a need to do clean install of the OS? Or will there be problems? I'm planning on putting in a new motherboard, CPU and RAM.

Solution
Your OS will need re-installing as Windows installs itself with reference to the hardware it finds itself on.

A bigger problem may be OS activation though, as Windows tries to register itself per motherboard, so a new motherboard means a new Windows licence purchase required. In practice though, if u hav only ever used your copy of Windows on one PC/ motherboard, you should be able to do a phone activation with a new motherboard
